Candle Care + Safety

Please follow the correct safety measures to ensure you get the most out of your candle.

Along with the importance of safety, the correct care can also prolong the life of your candle

Ensure you trim the wick to approximately 5mm before each burn, this will help for a clean burn and will control the size of the flame on your candle.

Ensure you are in a well-ventilated room away from any drafts and fans, when burning your candle for the first time, as this can cause rapid or uneven burn.

Allow the wax to melt until it reaches the edges of your jar before you extinguish as this will create a candle memory and a clean even burn in the future and help to prevent tunnelling, but never burn your candles longer than 2 hours for small candles, and up to 4 hours for medium and above sized candles.

Always trim the wick after each burn. Always have a minimum 10cm gap between candles for safety.

When there is 1/2 an inch of wax remaining in the jar discontinue use as this will prevent possible damage to the jar or the surface the candle is sitting on.

Never Leave burning candles unattended or use as a night light. When handling your candle when lit or just after, please ensure you hold at the bottom of the glass where it is cooler.

Keep out of the reach of children and pets.

Before and after you purchase one of our candles, please take the time to read the candle safety and care information here including the allergen details, to ensure you get the most out of your new candle.

Essential Oils

Essential Oils
Essential oils are very concentrated solutions that have been extracted from plants and it is important you are aware of how to use them safely. Each product has potential allergens listed, so you can make an informed decision about using the candle ranges. Following the steps below will ensure that you safely enjoy the benefits that essential oils offer.

Keep all essential oil products out of reach of children and pets. See the Pet Safety guide for more information.

Like everything, essential oils may also cause an allergic reaction for some individuals – please check each product allergens list if you are concerned.

Care should be taken when using essential oil products during pregnancy and baby nursing. Advise from health carer professionals has been against the use of all essential oils during pregnancy, but more recent advice is that most essential oils are safe to use externally. All our candles are diluted with natural waxes, so are safe to use. However, it’s always advisable to speak to your general practitioner if you are concerned, so you can make an informed choice. Your safety, wellbeing and health must come first.
